These cedar dining sets have been among Patiolife.com's most popular items, but please note the following:

Western red cedar comes in various shades from red to almost white. Any one set may contain a variation of wood colors. Most people consider this a charm of western red cedar; however, for those that would like a single shade (like the picture above), we recommend applying a stain (such as Sickens) which you can obtain from a local hardware store.

The edges of the table are not sanded. You may want to sand them down yourself. Instructions as to how best to do this are provided with the product.

The photograph of the red cedar dining set above is shown with a finish applied. This has the effect of darkening and evening out the variations in the wood color. Below is a picture of an unfinished red adirondack cedar chair, illustrating the lighter yet reddish color. All pine and red cedar products from Cayuga Designs come unfinished.

Red Cedar or Pine? Most Cayuga Designs products are available in both pine and western red cedar. Both woods have their own charm and are equally as durable as the other, but please note that pine should not be left outdoors without first applying a finish (such as Sikkens) for protection, which you can obtain from a local hardware store. Cedar does not require this, but, like most woods, turns a shade of gray when left unfinished. All products from Cayuga Designs are unfinished.

Cayuga Designs has a one year warranty on all its products against defects such as chipping and cracking, as well as for replacement parts.
