Uncompromising, thorough functionality and careful choice of material. Factors that have formed the basis for the maritime traditions of craftmanship for centuries. Traditions that still live in the shipbuilding craft and inspire designers and craftmen within other lines of business with the same demand for quality as that of the ship at sea.
Flexibility, functionality and comfort characterize the Selandia range. Selandia is developed and designed with inspiration from the old naval architecture and made with a view to optimum functionality. The range is sold white painted nyatoh and in unfinished teak.
Design: Povl B. Eskildsen, Lars Hegelund and Anders Hegelund.

Teak
Teak is a fine wood for both outdoor and indoor furniture with a beautiful pattern, exotic scent and strong structural properties.
It grows mostly in South-East Asia and is heavy, hard and stable. With its high content of naturally impregnating oils, teak is extremely resistant to wet and dry rot.

"Skagerak is based on the love of wood, proud traditions of craftsmanship and
respect for the sea and for the history of seafaring.
The values and traditions absorbed from these sources have been crucial in all my family's endeavours,
even as far back as the 19th century, when my great-great grandfather,
Soren Mollebygger, built the first sawmills for sawing and working up the flotsam and jetsam of the shipwrecks, all too frequent at that time, on Skagen Odde. These raw materials provided the basis for the joinery skills for which Skagen is widely known and which live on in Denmark's carpentry traditions. Skagerak is the product of generations of our family's passion for wood - and it all began with driftwood"
lb Møller, founder of Skagerak (formerly Trip Trap)
